The Daybreak Project
Takedown and correction policy

How to challenge a holding or a publication.

Corrections

If a Daybreak publication contains an error, write to press@daybreakproject.org with the publication, the passage, and the evidence. Corrections are published on the same page as the original, dated, with the change described. The original version remains available.

Holdings

Daybreak does not remove authentic public records because their contents are unwelcome. It will consider requests to withhold or mask a holding, or part of one, where it contains personal data of a private individual that serves no public purpose, where publication would create a specific risk to someone's safety, or where a court orders it. Requests go to contact@daybreakproject.org and should identify the holding, the material, and the ground.

Every withholding or masking is logged on the holding page with the date and the ground, so that the record of the record stays complete.

Disputed authenticity

If you believe a holding is not what it is described to be, say so with your evidence. Daybreak will review, update the authentication status, and publish the dispute and its resolution on the holding page.

This policy will be dated and versioned once reviewed by counsel.
